 Excellent stand with a couple of minor gripes September 3, 2010

As others have said here, this 3-legged stand is excellent, especially for the price. It is very versatile and folds up compactly. My only quibbles are construction quality--the movable pieces rattle around a little, and the big button you push to extend and re-set the angle of the stand has to be pushed hard exactly in the middle of the button or it won't work (at least on my stand).
Still, for the money, these are minor complaints and I like the stand and recommend it over much more expensive stands that I've looked at in the Apple store near me.
It does not work on my 13" laptop because the center of gravity is too far back and the computer is not secure on the stand. It says on the packaging that it's not good for computers over 12" and they are correct.

This iPad stand is the BEST and I did my homework. Why is it the best? Three reasons... #1 it collapses down to 8" inches so you can TRAVEL with it. #2 you can watch video content or browse applications like Epicurious in widescreen mode which most ipad stands don't accomodate, and #3 it is CHEAP.

The stand is a little bulkier than I expected but still works great. It shipped quickly and everything was as promised. It fits easily in my gadget bag and securely manages the iPad in either orientation. As a bonus it works great as a stand for your laptop as well (this appears to be what it was originally intended for an probably accounts for the bulk). I'm happy with the purchase.
