 Hard to open; here's solution September 6, 2010

I'm reviewing mainly the "hard-to-open" issue for now at least. I had the same trouble that many have mentioned: once I got the iPod Touch into the case, I couldn't get it out. I was on the verge of breaking the case, but researched the Mareware web site and couldn't find the right info in the knowledge base, but after submitting a trouble ticket, a description of how to open the case showed up (I can't explain that). From my reading, the illistrations don't match the words, but the basic idea works: hold the assembly with the ipod's face down on a desk and the larger part of the case closer to you. Push outward (away from the center of the ipod) on the large part of the case near the seam and slide the small part away.
I made the additional mistake of sliding the case on as a test to see how it worked and not paying attention to the fact that I was putting it on upside-down (which means not access to the charging port, etc. It took me a few days of tinkering and then finally sitting down to research it to find the solution. As someone said, assemble it without the iPod first so you understand how it works. The tiny tabs are what holds it together, which is what you're pushing apart with your thumbs.
I'm most happy to have the ability to set the iPod Touch down in landscape mode and just be able to watch it. The rest seems to be well constructed and designed for its purpose too. And now I'll get a chance to use it all.

It's a nice armband except for one thing - getting the iPod out of the case is VERY difficult. I have broken a couple of fingernails trying to pry the case open.

Bought this for my wife's new iPod Touch. It's everything reviewers say. High quality, comfortable, works great as a desktop stand when you're not working out. I did personally think the case itself was a little bulky, and I had problems getting the screen protector to apply without any bubbles. But overall it seems excellent, particularly for working out. The clip is really the best part of the product. You can clip it to your clothes, belt, use it as a desktop kick stand, and of course clip it securely to the arm band for running, etc.

I think this is a great case for my new ipod, but I can't for the life of me get the case off so I can attach the clip to use on the armband. So the clip and armband are useless to me. Others have mentioned this and seem to have been able to get it off, so I will keep trying, but really, it shouldn't be this difficult.
