| Customer Reviews: too big June 14, 2010 lana this armband looks very nice but it was too big for my arm even with adjustments.
Bulky, feels cheap, slides off January 29, 2009 20-something (NY) I bought this from the Speck website, which had a sale, and combined with two discount codes (do a google search, they were really easy to find), I paid less than two dollars for this armband. I'm really glad I didn't pay more, because this armband proved to be fairly useless!
My 80GB video iPod fit into the case well, but it's a little odd, as the iPod goes into the bottom and you sort of wear it upside down/sideways, which actually makes it pretty easy to access the controls while it's on your arm.
The material is fairly rough and it didn't feel comfortable at all on my bare skin. I had to stuff my T-shirt under the armband to keep the material from scratching my arm.
Now, I could have dealt with that, but once I started running this thing just slid down my arm to my elbow constantly! The strap is NOT elastic, so unless you tighten it so much that it almost cuts off circulation, I don't see this armband staying on (unless you've got a massive bicep to keep it from sliding to your elbow...).
The one thing I did like was the exposed wheel, which made flipping through lists very easy (unlike a lot of other armbands that have a plastic cover over the wheel).
I could see this armband being useful to someone who exercises very gently (maybe walking or stationary bike), but if you plan on running, then you may want to keep looking.
Opens from the boottom July 12, 2008 G. Keller (Hudson, WI United States) Quality is good. Design is poor. Product allows for no access to docking port. Retaining strap fights gravity unless worn upside down. Retaining strap goes between iPod and arm. Loosening the armband is required for purposely removing iPod. I like other Speck products.
it works June 24, 2008 Frank Tillinghast (Warwick, RI USA) this one works as well as any I have seen... the problem is the video iPod is too big to workout with... if you haven't bought one yet, get a Nano! if you already have one, this is a good armband for treadmill.
A little itchy with loose stitching March 3, 2008 J. M. Thvedt (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really like the concept of this design. It makes it possible for me to see the ipod while I'm working out. The problem with this armband is that it is kind of itchy on bare skin. Also, the first time I put it on, the stitching came loose on one of the velcro pads. I'd like to say it's because my arms are so awesomely massive that they busted it up, but the truth is the work there is a little shoddy. It's not worth returning because I have used a needle and thread before, but it was a bummer.
